FINCA ALBAROSSA

The Finca Albarossa extends over 135 hectares, from Ruta 40 to the slopes of the Pre-Andes mountain range. To the east is Las Cumbres Calchaquíes, an Andean system that has its highest point on the southern peak of Cerro de la Mina, 4762 meters above sea level. On its western side the extremely dry climate creates the conditions suitable for the growth of Cactaceae, some of which exceed 10 meters in height. In addition to the vineyards that stretch to the right and left of the ‘Ruta 40’ right up to the little town of Cafayate, the valley is embellished by the important archaeological site of the Ruins of Quilmes, a sacred place where the conquistadores nearly exterminated the native population in a very cruel way.
